For parents

See the whole course. Know where your student stands.

Every chapter of the new exam sits on one map. As your student practices, each chapter fills in with real results, showing what’s solid and what still needs work.

  • What the bars count Multiple choice only, right on the first try with no hint. They fill as more questions count, so one lucky answer can’t top one out. Written answers are self-checked against the scoring guide.
  • What to do next The app flags answers worth another look and suggests the next question set.
  • What you’ll see Your student can send you a one-page progress report, or print it, in two clicks.

These are practice results, not a predicted Regents score. There’s no separate parent login yet, so results reach you through the report or by looking together.

New York is running old and new Regents side by side through June 2027. See how to tell which one your class is taking: Chemistry · Physics

Why old practice falls short

The new exam asks students to read, apply, and explain.

01

Read first, then model it

On the old exam, a prompt directly asked for a Lewis dot diagram of CO2. On June 2026 Cluster 3: Equilibria in the Blood (Q12), the prompt asks you to “model the gas released from the liver cells into the plasma”—you must first read the biological buffering diagram to identify CO2, then draw its double-bonded structure on the canvas.

02

The data is in the question now

Eighteen lookup tables from 2011 (including Table S, Table B water constants, and Table M indicators) are gone. On June 2026 Cluster 5: Urban Heat Islands (Q20), you pull brick mass (2,700 g) from the passage, brick specific heat (0.84 J/g·°C) from the cluster table, and q = mcΔT from Page 4 of the 2025 Reference Tables.

A parent can pay while the student keeps their own sign-in. Multiple-choice answers are checked against the key. Written answers, calculations, and models are compared with the scoring guide by the student. Results are not a predicted Regents score. Frequently asked questions

As a parent, how do I see how my student is doing?
Ask your student for their progress report. In the app, Send to a parent makes a one-page report with results for every chapter, ready to print, save as a PDF, or send to you. You can also look at the roadmap together. There is no separate parent login yet.
Will this tell me what my student will score on the Regents?
No. Results show how practice is going, not a predicted score. Chapter bars count multiple choice only, on a first attempt without a hint. Written answers are about 40% of the exam, and students compare those with the scoring guide themselves.
Is New Regents an official NYSED product?
No. New Regents is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NYSED. Official NYSED questions are labeled Official, and our own practice papers are labeled Original, so you always know which is which.
What does New Regents membership include?
For $29.99 USD per month, one membership includes the full Chemistry and Physics libraries, interactive question sets, full exams, scoring guides, and saved progress. Renews monthly; cancel anytime. Official sample clusters in both subjects are free.
Which Regents exams does New Regents cover?
New Regents covers New York's NYSP12SLS Physical Science: Chemistry and Physical Science: Physics exams. Both subjects include official NYSED sample clusters, released exams, the 2025 Reference Tables, and original full-length practice exams.
What is the format of the new Chemistry and Physics Regents exams?
Both new (NYSP12SLS) exams last 3 hours and have 45 to 55 questions grouped into 9 to 11 sets, each built around one real-world scenario. About 60% are multiple choice and 40% are written, and every question is worth one credit. Chemistry students use the 4-page 2025 Edition Reference Tables for Physical Science: Chemistry, and Physics students use the 2025 Edition Reference Tables for Physical Science: Physics.
Can we try it for free without an account?
Yes. The official NYSED sample question sets for Chemistry and Physics and the 2025 Reference Tables guides are free, with no account or credit card. Membership adds every released exam and practice paper in the interactive workspace.
